Getting to the Airfield

Langar Airfield is 12 miles South East of Nottingham and 5 miles South of Bingham on the border of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. The Airfield is between the villages of Langar and Harby. The Parachute School is located in the Control Tower building on the Airfield. As there is sometimes some confusion, please note that we are not Nottingham Airport (there is one, but it's six miles away at Tollerton).

By Bus: From the Broadmarsh Centre Bus Station in Nottingham, Barton's Buses.Click here for timetable for buses to Langar.

By Train:
Mainline to Nottingham or Grantham. Then taxi to the Airfield (about £18), or, from Nottingham, buses as above. The Broadmarsh Centre Bus Station is about 5 minutes walk from Nottingham Train Station.

By Car: There is no better way to find us than using an up-to-date printed road map! Please note that SatNav may not always get you to our doorstep using the postcode. We are at Latitude 52:53:35 North, Longitude 0:54:36 West, and our Ordnance Survey grid reference is SK736330. Once you're in the region, use the following directions...

M
1 coming from the South: leave the motorway at junction 21a and follow signs for A46 Newark. Langar is signposted to the right from the A46, at a crossroads with a petrol station (if you get to the A52, you have gone too far). Follow this road to its end at a T junction at Langar village. Turn right towards Harby. Going towards Harby from Langar Village, the Airfield is on your left, about 1 mile from Langar, a few hundred yards past the 'John Deere' factory (also on your left). When you come to a row of factories on your right, watch out for the big Skydive Langar sign in the airfield entrance opposite these.

M1 coming from the North: Leave the motorway at Junction 25 and follow the A52 (which becomes the Nottingham ring road) and signs for Grantham. Keep heading for Grantham until you reach the large roundabout signposted A46 Leicester to the right and A46 Newark to the left. Go towards Leicester on the A46. (Do not take the A606 - which also shows Leicester/A46 - at an earlier roundabout). After about 3 miles Langar is signposted to your left at a crossroads with a petrol station.
