Forthcoming events
There are still places left on Brian Vacher's Safe Flight School canopy course, organised by the Brit Chicks. The course is open to everyone, male or female. Brian is coming to the UK to run the 3 day course at Langar on Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August inclusive. See the website at www.safeflightschool.com . Brian's courses are very popular and come highly recommended.
The cost of the course is £125 and you will need 10 jump tickets for 7k hop and pops, at £12 each, so another £120. Total cost £245. Brian is throwing in a free manual for each participant and very kindly waiving his travel costs which we would normally have to cover. We have to take a deposit for the course because we may still have to pay if someone doesn't show up. The deposit is £65 cheque payable to Brit Chicks.
To secure a place, just let Liz Matthews know by email (liz_matthews10@yahoo.co.uk) who will let you know how to pay the deposit and can answer any queries.
PACKING COURSES
We have a whole raft of packing trainers so for those of you out there who can't pack, or haven't got your 'B' certificate because they can't get their shiny new canopy into that envelope sized bag - get yourselves on one of their packing courses.
Email us at Langar to get yourself booked on - Tuesday is the official course day, but there is a bit of flexibility, especially when the weather is bad. The fee is £20 - cash only please. Bring your own rig along - or use club kit if you don't have one. Please note that you will not leave with a packing certificate (you need to be able to do a lot more than just pack for that) but it will take you a huge leap closer to it.
